SMART Body Youth- Foods for Healthy Skin!

This past Friday was our last hands-on cooking class, SMART Body Youth. This class focused on foods that are good for your skin and help clear up acne! Our delicious menu included walnut crusted chicken breast, quinoa salad, black bean salsa with baked chips, olive and arugula salad, and a cranberry and grapefruit spritzer! After all our hard work and food preparation we were able to sit down and eat the meal together.

Our beautiful buffet of food!

Thank you to all the youth who came to our six-week cooking class! We hope you learned new cooking skills and will try some of the healthy recipes on your own.

SMART Body Youth: Taco Salad!

SMART Youth continued our cooking classes this week, focusing our efforts on creating a delicious and nutritious Mexican-inspired dish. Our amazing nutritionist Lena showed us how to make taco salad, made healthier through the use of lean ground beef, whole-wheat tortillas, and lots of extra veggies. Our youth loved cooking this fantastic recipe and enjoyed eating the finished product even more! Check out some pictures from the class below.
